Apples- 3 pounds
$9.99
*Apple variety varies by season
Apples are delicious, eaten raw, made into apple sauce, or baked in a pie.
Brian Heatherington at Beech Creek Farm is a good friend of ours, and he grows some amazing apples. He uses a process called Integrated Pest Management (IPM). This process indicates that he will use organic methods to control pests as a first line of defense. In the instance that the pest pressure is too great for the organic methods to control, he will spray with a very judicious and minimal use of chemicals. In the South, growing totally organic apples is a near impossibility, and we feel like Brian's apples are the next best thing. Not to mention that they are local and raised by a farmer who also raises organic vegetables.
Variety: Brian has several varieties that are harvested in succession starting in late summer, and running through late fall. Late Fall apples are then stored in his cooler and we are able to sell those until early spring. The variety you receive will depend on the time of year and which apples are being harvested at that time. However, they will be the freshest, tastiest, most local apples you can find.
Apples are sold in 3 pound bags.
